Shabbat

Friday Night

7:30 pm Shabbat Evening Service

We conduct several types of Shabbat worship throughout the year. From traditional Friday night services to ones focused on music, a holiday, or a particular group, there's sure to be an offering that's right for you.

OUR SHABBAT SCHEDULE:

1st Friday - Family Shabbat!

There will be music - featuring our youth choir, a story or discussion lead by Rabbi Memis-Foler, lots of singing and spirit, and a monthly birthday/anniversary blessing. Our service is created for families whose children are in the elementary grades but will be enjoyable to all who celebrate with us.

2nd Friday - Classic Shabbat

During this service we will visit more traditional, older melodies of Shabbat while creating a sense of comfort, nostalgia, and familiarity.

3rd Friday - Guitar Shabbat

Come and join us for a service reminiscent of camp in the comfort of our own sanctuary.  Joined by our song leader, Lucas Bennett, and perhaps some of our song leaders in training, we will have modern melodies and will learn new music together which we can use throughout the month.

4th Friday - Adult Choir Shabbat

This service will be made richer by the voices of our adult choir.  While some may choose to listen and be moved to pray silently while the choir sings, everyone is encouraged, as always to sing along.

5th Friday - Shabbat Evening Service

The music for this service will create an atmosphere of relaxation and renewal.

Saturday Morning

8:45 am Torah Talk & Bagels
Come study the weekly Torah portion with your fellow congregants. No preparation, special training, or advance registration is necessary, only an open mind and willingness to share ideas.

10:00 am Shabbat Morning Service
This service, led by our rabbi and cantor, often includes the Bar or Bat Mitzvah of one of our teens as well as the traditional elements of a Shabbat morning service: prayers, responsive readings, music, reading from the Torah, and a d'var Torah (interpretation of the weekly Torah portion). On mornings when there is no Bar or Bat Mitvah, our rabbi or cantor may use this opportunity to conduct a Learner's Service and explain different aspects of the service or liturgy.

Tot Shabbat - A Shabbat Experience for Tots and their Families

Join us for this fun, family-friendly Shabbat experience designed to keep kids engaged and excited about celebrating the holiday. Sing songs, learn and recite Shabbat blessings, listen to stories, and more. Designed for children ages 0-8 and their families.

This program is aimed to engage children using diverse learning styles so that every child feels welcome to participate in a meaningful way.  The thirty-minute service will include a Torah parade, visual aids and be easy to follow.  If you have a child that has any special needs, please do not hesitate to contact us so we can further improve their experience.
